It has been a hard week....that is the understatement of the year. Of course as bad as my week was, it was worse for my dear friend. She was laid off this week. The job has been on my mind a lot the last few months. We all figured something was going to happen due to the economy, what we didn't know. Well, this week we finally found out. My job was saved. My friends {and former co-worker} was not.
We have worked together for nearly eight years {the actual time is debatable...
inside joke} You work in an office and frankly spend more time with the people you work with than with your own family...harsh but true. Friendships grow...and then the building industry drops and you say goodbye. Goodbye to the person who would tell me if my hair was sticking up, goodbye to morning talks of books, goodbye to Faith talks in the middle of the day, goodbye to receiving advice even if I had not asked for it, goodbye to not having to speak to be understood. I will say goodbye to our work relationship and wish her prayers and happiness....
